Details: The HAZWOPER standard governs health and safety for three classifications of workers: emergency responders, hazardous waste operations workers, and TSD workers. After workers in each classification have received their basic training, they must receive annual refresher training. This course is designed to meet the qualifications of each category. Subjects taught include the use of the NIOSH pocket guide, DOT guidebook, respirator selection, and recent changes to pertinent regulations. General site workers, supervisors, fire department officials, and safety directors will find this course interesting and informative.

Details: This is required training for public or private hazardous materials response teams. 29 CFR 1910.120(q) mandates a minimum of 24 hours of training covering specific training topics. This course is designed to bring a responder to the technician level of hazardous materials response. Technicians may perform offensive maneuvers at an emergency scene, such as patching leaks, cleaning up spilled product, etc. Students will learn proper selection and use of personal protective equipment, hazard assessment techniques, and air monitoring principles, decontamination, and more.

Details: The HAZWOPER standard, 29 CFR 1910.120(e), requires 40 hours training off-site and 3 days field experience in order to work on a hazardous waste site. Students will learn proper selection and use of personal protective equipment, hazard assessment techniques, air monitoring principles, decontamination, permit procedures for confined spaces, hazardous properties of chemical wastes, regulations for management of hazardous wastes and more. This course incorporates hands on drills including an outside drill with Level “A” operations at a spill site.

Details: 40 CFR Part 265.16 is required training for facility personnel handling hazardous waste. They must successfully complete a program of classroom instruction or on the job training teaching them to respond effectrively to emergencies by familiarizing them with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems. In addition, the following hazardous waste regulations are covered: 40 CFR Part 262, Subparts A - General Requirements, B - Manifests, C - Pre-transport, and D - Record keeping and Reporting. The course primarily targets Small Quantity Generators, although Large Quantity Generators are also covered. It helps meet initial training and annual review requirements.

Details: The First Aid Class will teach students to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illnesses. Details: Pet first aid is the immediate care given to an injured or suddenly ill pet as temporary assistance until competent veterinary care is available. Properly applied first aid and CPR can save your pet's life, reduce recovery time and be the difference between temporary disability and lifelong disability. This program concentrates on basic CPR and first aid care. It is not intended to replace veterinary care, but rater to instruct the pet owner on how to save a pet's life during an emergency or to minimize a pet's trauma after an injury. In addition to baisc emergency care, we will cover some common illnesses and other problems that your pet may be exposed to. This program will primarily refer to dogs and cats. However, first aid applications for most pets are similar.

Details: OSHA Standards 1910.134 and 1926.103 require employers to maintain a respiratory protection program and that all persons with tasks where respirators are necessary must be trained, medically approved, fit tested and annually retrained. Anyone exposed to breathing air with oxygen depletion, harmful dust, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays or vapors must be trained. Course topics include: respiratory protection regulation, fit testing procedures, care & use of the equipment, and the different types of purifying respirators will be covered. Details: Bucket trucks, boom trucks, scissor lifts, etc. are all necessary equipment but can be quite dangerous if not operated properly. This two and one half - hour course reviews proper procedures for ensuring a safe lift. Operators are educated in the hazards of using aerial lifts and are taught the steps for avoiding or controlling those hazards. Covers such topics as: vehicle stabilization & traveling; use of outriggers; working near electrical lines; pre-operation inspection; and fall protection.

Details: 40 CFR Part 256.16 requires training for facility personnel handling hazardous waste. They must successfully complete a program of classroom instruction or on the job training teaching them to respond effectively to emergencies by familiarizing them with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems. In addition, the folowing hazardous waste regulations are covered: 40 CFR Part 262 Subparts A - General Requirements, B - Manifests, C - Pre-transport, and D - Recordkeeping and Reporting. The course primarily targets Small Quantity Generators, although Large Quantity Generators are also covered. It helps meet initital training and annual review requirements.
